How are my chances of winning improved?

Simply put, it’s in the math.  Regular 5 card Draw Poker is played with all cards being exactly what they are.  What you are dealt with, you must play with.  In Joker’s Wild, the addition of the wild card changed the field of play.  All of a sudden those 2 Jacks don’t look so bad when you put a wild Joker next to them and now are holding 3 of Kind Jacks.  You have a one in ten chance of being dealt the Wild Joker in any given hand of Poker.  You are being given a 10% increase in your prospects of making the hand that will win you money.  The Wild Joker offers a clear and distinct advantage over every other Poker game out there, and it’s something the Casinos would just as soon you not know.

Long-Term Payback            

The secret of Joker’s Wild is that with the addition of the wild card, Joker’s Wild is one of the only things in a Casino you can gamble on with a 99% Long-term payback.  Meaning that if you only were to stick to gambling video poker playing Joker’s Wild and play the right strategy, you will be a net winner in the long run.  The long-term payback is what counts.  Winning a thousand dollar hand on a Royal Flush is great, but not so great if you sunk $5,000 into gambling that month to win that hand.  To really make money gambling you must look at the bigger picture and your accumulated hands of play.  The long-term payback is you net winnings, and the money you take home with you over the long haul will determine if you really are winning at gambling or not.

Why the Casinos don’t  like Joker’s Wild

It’s not to say that Casino’s are against Joker’s Wild, per se.  It is the fact that the Casino’s know that if you know how to play poker and stuck only to playing Joker’s Wild, you would be receiving a 99% payout.  There are simply no other games in the Casino where a player with well honed skills and discipline can have such a clear chance of walking away with the house’s money time and time again.  Take for example a Roulette table.  The Casinos know that you are going to pick what you are going to pick to win, but when it comes down to it the ball will land where it will and there is no way you can increase your chances of winning.  With Joker’s Wild the rules are different and the Casinos don’t make the profits of them like they do in other gambling scenarios, plain and simple.
